Four to six months before a destination wedding or a wedding in the busy winter season, and two to three months before a wedding in your own city.

Is a save the date needed for an Indian wedding?

It is not required, but it helps when guests must book leave, trains or flights. In the winter wedding season, dates fill up fast.

Who should get a save the date?

Only people who will also get the invitation. A save the date is a promise that the invitation is coming.

Save the date messages for Indian weddings

A save the date tells guests the date and the city early, before the full invitation is ready. For a destination wedding, or guests who need leave, trains or flights, it is the most useful message you send. Here are short messages in English and Hindi. Change the highlighted parts.
