A royal wedding card in crimson velvet
The Surkh design (surkh means deep red) starts as a closed envelope of wine-red velvet, edged in gold, with gold roses, lotuses and paisley vines embossed on it. It leans with the guest’s finger or mouse. A tap on the ivory wax seal sends rays of light through the seams, the seal lifts, and the four flaps fold open one by one.
Inside, the invitation scrolls as one page under falling rose petals and gold leaf. It opens on a carved marble jharokha over Lake Pichola, with two white swans, floating diyas and your names in script.
